It was the first girly gardening of the year on Friday – a little gardening club run by a few girly friends (as the name suggest!). To be honest, not much gardening takes place but we do make a bit of an effort. The ladies were all on good form as usual – in fact for most of the evening the noise level was deafening. The aim of the first meeting of the year was to get started with a little bit of planting. I’ve had my head in the cloud’s with Piccalilly since the start of the year, so it was a welcome break to get sowing, in particular broad beans and sweet peas – which I always plant too late every year. We really should have contacted our good friend Shourjo Sarka at BBC Radio Leeds who has been very supportive of our girly gardening club, having featured many of us on his show - he even sent his gardening guru around to my house last year and featured us on his Saturday Show! Anyway will keep you posted with how the gardening season progresses – and anyone wanting to listen to the Shourjo show – he describes it as a dinner party without the food – tune into BBC Radio Leeds 92.4, 95.3 FM & 774 AM.
